Class attendance
From BIOL 300 Wiki
Earning attendance points:
- Come on time and stay through the entire class.
- Attendance in class earns 1 point for class participation.
- Tardiness or leaving early may be penalized.
- Absences will only be excused for valid reasons with documentation. Examples of valid reasons for an excused absence are
- an email from a graduate or medical school scheduling an interview,
- an email from a conference indicating that you are scheduled to give a presentation,
- a note from a coach indicating that you must attend an athletic event,
- a doctor's note indicating that you had an illness.
- It is your responsibility to make up any work that you may have missed, to check off material that was due (in class or in office hours as soon as possible after the due date), and to ensure that your teammate's work does not suffer because of your absence.
- If your absence is unexcused, you earn 0 attendance points for the day of the class you missed.
